Bring Fun, Focus, Sustainability and Ease to Your Memoir Project During November
I’m excited to share a new writing challenge for November to help you bring fun, FOCUS, sustainability and ease into your memoir writing process!
Most writing challenges encourage intense word count goals vs. making meaningful progress on a specific project.
As a result, folks write random sh*t that doesn't lead to a cohesive (or compelling) book.
And since those type of writing-challenge goals often aren't sustainable, many folks burn out, never to revisit the pages they wrote because it’s One. Big. Mucky. Mess.
Despite that, writing challenges can be fun and exhilarating -- if they're done right.
That's why I created Glowvember :)
We're going to start by identifying the heart of your memoir. This will help you move forward with clarity and focus. And it'll keep you from writing into the abyss!
Then we’re going to help you make steady, sustainable progress that's a) aligned with your vision for your memoir and that b) you can use to support yourself and your memoir through the holidays.
We're also going to help you reignite your passion for your memoir project. (Yay!)
Last but not least, we’re going to bring FUN and PLAY into the process!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been spent YEARS digging through the mud. And the problem with digging in the mud is that there’s Always. More. Mud.
Good god, am I sick of the mud!
Especially now, when life feels so freaking heavy.
So let’s take a step back and focus on the LOTUS that’s growing from that mud.
Let's focus on the transformation that comes from writing memoir.
And the light that comes from reclaiming ourselves and our stories.
Friend, let’s unleash ourselves.
Yes, we may have heavy stories.
But we need to balance the dark with the light.
Otherwise, we’re never going to make it to the other end.
If we’re constantly retraumatized every time we sit down to write, how the hell are we going to finish our memoir?
Here’s a truth I wish more folks understood: you don’t need to suffer just because you’re writing a memoir.
No!
The world has enough suffering.
What we need is more joy.
Connection.
Possibility.
And love.
What if we were EXCITED to work on our project?
What if we were CURIOUS?
What if we were IN RELATIONSHIP with our memoir?
This is what we’re going to explore in our time together.

We'll also help you shift away from yucky SHOULDs so you can write toward the stories that inspire you and light you up!
We'll help you create a sustainable writing schedule that works for YOU, with all the real constraints of your human-scaled life.
Then we'll help you put a plan in place to carry you and your memoir through the holidays.

If you'd like to swap writing (totally optional!), we'll have an opportunity for you to connect with others for that purpose.
All of this will be grounded in short teachings each week to guide and inspire you.
We'll come together for a community kick-off call on Saturday, November 1st at 10 am MT/ noon ET.
On this call, I'll guide you through a series of exercises to help hone your focus for our time together.
We'll write in community 2x during our time together:
Nov 7: 9 am MT/ 11 am ET and
Nov 21: 9 am MT / 11 am ET.
If you'd like to write with your fellow writers more often, there will be opportunities to self-organize additional calls.
Each week, we'll celebrate your wins, no matter how small. (This small, simple step will help you strengthen the neural pathways for success.)
Then we'll wrap up our time together with a community CELEBRATION on Sunday, November 30th at 10 am MT/ noon ET.
Our live calls will be hosted on Zoom.
All calls are one hour long.
Everything else is hosted in a private, online platform (NOT Facebook) where you can engage as much -- or as little -- as you'd like.
If this calls to you, I invite you to join us!
